TWO+TWO: There are 6 input channels on the X-26 and stereo effects receive jacks. TAPE SYNC:When you dedicate one track (usually track 4) as a control track, you are ready to run MIDI instruments. You record the vocals and acoustic instruments. All electronic instruments are programmedto play in "real time" as the master mix is being made. Thus they are all "first generation" on the master tape. SUB-MIX SECTION: Inputs 3-6 are internally wired to receive tape playback signals (tracks 1-4) as well as "live" line signals. You'll find many uses for this 4 x 2 sub-mixer. LAYER TRACKS: You start withbasic tracks and build with overdubs. The sub-mix section of the X-26 is the perfect cue feed for overdubbing. I have stumbled upon a cache of brand-new, factory sealed ,video tapes of Beatles drummer RINGO STARR and a group of fellow musicians that did a concert at the Greek Theater in Hollywood,California about 1990. The group consisted of names like, Clarence Clemons, Dr. John, Levon Helm, Billy Preston, Rick Danko, Joe Walsh Nils Lofgren, Jim Keltner and RINGO himself. It is 90 minutes of the best non-stop music, top quality video and hi-fi stereo sound I have enjoyed in a long time. It makes you feel like you are right there! My wife (who doesn't appreciate most music) watched and listened without a break to the whole 90 minute tape and commented when it was over, "I could have listened to more."
